With the introduction of the Rogue Sport compact crossover, the automaker added the Qashqai or The Rogue Sport to its portfolio of SUVs on Monday. The Rogue Sport is actually the United States version of the award-winning car, the Qashqai crossover, which is pronounced as Cash-Kai. The mentioned car is one of the hottest selling models of Nissan in Europe.

Nissan’s most popular vehicle in Europe makes its way to America

The Rogue Sport is built on the similar Renault-Nissan CMF platform as the Rogue but it is more than a foot shorter. The Rogue Sport will, as a result, target couple without kids, young singles, and empty nesters.

Michael Bunce, the North America vice president for product planning of Nissan, said in a statement that while they expect the platform “Rogue” to continue to appeal to owners with young families, the Rogue Sport is filling a need for couples and singles who need more versatility and space that the average sedan for social activities and everyday urban use. The Rogue Sport comes with excellent power and engine. The power of the car comes from a 141 horsepower, 2.0 liter inline-four-cylinder engine along with the prevalent variable transmission of Nissan.

In addition to this, the Rogue Sport will be equipped with intelligent cruise control, surround view camera system, and suite of connected services of the car making company. For several years now, the rumors of the arrival of the Qashqai in the United States have been whirling. Nissan chose to delay the arrival of the car in the US in order to focus on building up the strength of the Rogue Brand, said Nissan.

Sales of the larger Rogue surged over 15%, with more than 329,000 units sold in the United States last year. Rogue, in fact, became the 10th best-selling car in the country and even managed to supersede the Altima sedan to become the bestselling model of Nissan.

The new concept comes loaded with the Nissan Intelligent Driving as well, which is the part of mobility solution of the automaker.

The car offers a comfortable and safe driving experience through tech like ProPilot that enables the car to drive in the autonomous mode, not only on urban roads with intersections but also on heavy traffic conditions and highways.
