Before you get all excited and then sad, we should reveal that the Korea-based smartphone making giant is not launching any phone at the Mobile World Congress this month. But, that does not mean it is releasing nothing. The Korean company is up to something and we might have found some news about it.

What is Samsung unveiling in MWC at Barcelona?

According to some rumors, the Korean company could be launching a tablet, which could have a 12-megapixel camera and a 9.6-inch screen display. We already know that the next landmark smartphone of Samsung is the Galaxy S8 and it would not be making its debut at the MWC tech show this month but that does not mean the Korean smartphone maker will come bare handed at the event.

The Korea-based smartphone making giant will officially host an event at the annual conference for all things mobile. It is already sending press invites for the event for Sunday, February 26 in Barcelona. What we do not know yet is “what the Korean company is planning to show the media at the event.” However, according to SamMobile (which cited a Korean source), there is a rumor about the Galaxy Tab S3.

The Korean company is not releasing any smartphone at the large event and that is giving its rivals a better position to hike up excitement and promote their smartphone at the MWC without any fear of Samsung Electronics. LG will be releasing the LG G6 at the event, according to reports. Holding out on one large event will also give the Korean company an opportunity to get some headlines and free promotion ahead of its Galaxy S8 smartphone release. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S8 in late March.

Samsung could be releasing its Galaxy Tab S3 this month

According to CNET, the tab S3 would be a follow-up to the Tab S2. According to rumors, the smartphone will have a 9.6-inch display with 2,048×1,536-pixel resolution, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 12-megapixel rear camera. In addition to this, the tab is rumored to have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 7.0 Nougat, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and 4GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S3 could begin selling in March, noted SamMobile. The Galaxy Tab S3 could start selling in March, for around 700,000 won, which converts to AU$802, £483 and $607. The Korean smartphone maker did not immediately respond to a request for comment. We will be covering the MWC 2017 and we will continue updating the news.
