With iPhone, it does not matter what time of the year it is. People are always excited to hear about the next smartphone of the Cupertino-based iPhone maker. The next iPhone is expected to make its debut this year in fall. The shares of the tech giant were trading above their all-time high Monday, hiking in part due to the increasing speculation about the next iPhone.
iPhone 8 generating the most excitement among people
The next smartphone by the tech giant is expected to get a substantial makeover. Many people who follow these rumors believe three models of the upcoming smartphone, presumably an iPhone 8, an iPhone 7s, and iPhone 7s Plus. What is not so certain is whether those names will be the real code-names of the smartphones. As it is, it is the 10th anniversary of the tech giant, so some people are expecting the iPhone 8 to be called the iPhone “X.”
The iPhone 8, which is the high-end version of the iPhone, is the one smartphone that is really generating the lion’s share of the excitement because it is expected to come with most design changes and modifications. Some more intriguing rumors about the real specifications of the smartphone have surfaced in the past few weeks.
Here are some specs we expect to see:
- According to the rumors, the most expensive version of the iPhone will have an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen, instead of the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) technology that it has now. According to alphabet soup, the biggest difference for customers will be in picture quality. OLED screens are popular for having deep blacks and vivid colors. Samsung, Motorola, and Google – some Apple competitors – have come out with smartphones carrying the same screen but it will be the first attempt for the tech giant.
- According to several reports last year, the Cupertino based iPhone maker would have a virtual button instead of a physical home button in its upcoming iPhone, which will make for an even smoother display.
- Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities predicted that the next iPhone will be the fanciest smartphone by the Silicon Valley giant and could bear a price tag of more than $1000. Well, that was expected given the coveted OLED screen, which does not come cheap.
- Another rumor revolves around the wireless capabilities of the smartphone. According to Kuo, the next generation of iPhones will have wireless charging capabilities. It is not, however, clear if the wireless charger itself will be included with the iPhone or not. For Apple Watch, the tech giant already uses wireless charging so it does increase our faith in this particular rumor.
