Some would call it bad timing while some would call it “its does what it sees” but either way, it cannot be ignored that Samsung, the Korea-based smartphone maker, is appearing ready to duplicate one of the worst features of the radically redesigned iPhone 8.

The color option and price points of Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks

The Korean company, according to a new report from SamMobile, is going to match the planned price rises of Apple that will see the retail of both iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 for more than $1,000. The pricing data comes from Eastern European retailers, just like previous years. This year Ukraine’s Hryvnia revealed the pricing information.

Based on the most recent leaks of the smartphone, the concept of Galaxy S8 looks stunning, but it may come at a heavy price. According to a database leak, after a currency conversion, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will start at $950 and $1050 respectively. The release date of Galaxy S8 (SM-G950) and Galaxy S8 Plus (SM-G955) is still not certain.

The only caveat is that electronics have divergent prices in different countries but even including this into the equation, the models that are rumored to release in 2017 carry a circa $100 premium over Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, which came out last year.

People who are still prepared to pay this amount of money for the smartphone should know that the listing by Hryvnia further discloses that the initial Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus of Samsung have color options available – including Gold, Black or Orchid Gray – on launch. We all know that the South Korea-based smartphone making giant offers the color finishes a few months after the phone’s release.

The price of the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 are hiked for a specific reason

The color options and price points of the Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus were leaked by Hryvnia but other specs are still kept veiled. People who are feeling annoyed by the increase in prices should know that other smartphone making companies like Apple and Google are also increasing the cost of their mobile device. According to some reports, the search giant is expected to hike the price of the Pixel 2. But, it should be noted that this year would not be a year of incremental upgrades like last year.

The iPhone 8, which is expected to come at a price of $1000, will sport a completely new design and the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will have huge displays of 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch respectively. Both the smartphone making companies, LG and Samsung, are preparing for the release of their next flagships, the LG G6 and the Galaxy S8. The LG G6 is expected to launch by the end of this week whereas the Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to be launched in March.
